Job Description
Job Purpose : Create functional, user-friendly web applications and demonstrate intensive knowledge in designing user interfaces, user experiences and product design. Must analyse business requirement, write code, develop and test new applications, or monitor applications performance and web traffic. Must design APIs to integrate existing internal/ external applications following best practice methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, code, test, implement and maintain programmes and applications in a multi - platform environment to ensure efficient and optimised operational programmes
- Introduce and develop new business relevant content, solutions and manage the enhancement of existing portal content and systems in line with PetroSA Enterprise Architecture principles and standards and conforms to evolving business needs to ensure enhanced performance of existing systems
- Participate in, coordinate and review all phases of the software development life cycle to ensure that the development conforms to performance optimisation and interoperability standards and requirements
- Coordinate and monitor all aspects and phases of the project which include: the project objectives, scope costs, timelines, resources, outcomes, success measures problem resolution, and risks to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and according to project compliance
- Manage the identification of potential Web application, systems and risks and develop and implement risk mitigation to ensure the risks are managed and mitigated
- Manage the back-up and recovery processes for WEB services, including testing, using the tools and technology deployed in PetroSA to ensure business critical information is secure
- Implement information services policies and procedures and make recommendations on changes to policy/procedures and work practices to ensure alignment to the provisions of current legislation
- Analyse internal and external environmental factors, evaluate and report on national and international trends and statistics and design and implement interventions to introduce best practice to ensure trends for improvement and best practice are identified and implemented
- Execute incident management process by logging and resolving calls logged on the incident management system within SLA and constantly monitor the system for any incidents relating to the WEB services and escalating incidents with service providers when required to ensure timely resolution of incidents
- Execute IS asset management process for WEB Services to ensure an inventory of all development assets are recorded and maintained
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- B Degree/BSc Degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF Lev 7) in Information Systems or Computer Science
Minimum Experience:
- 3-5 years relevant experience in web applications development, maintenance and administration of web applications and SQL scripting with at least 3 - 4 years’ experience in visual studio, SharePoint, power Automate, and WordPress development
